• Background

  Diana Elaine Keaton was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, along with her older brother Andrew. There's no doubt she was brought up in a rich and privileged family. They lived in Highland Springs in a large house with a maid and gardeners and her and Andrew barely had any chores other than to do good in school and be well-behaved. If they wanted things, such as new clothes, mobile phones or anything along those lines, they'd receive it within a couple months at the most. Money was never an issue, and neither was school or friendships, simply because of who they were and what they looked like. Both her and her brother had large friend groups, mainly because they were encouraged by their parents to do social activities in school, but it was all based on their rich background and good looks. People admired them and she quickly learned how to use it to her advantage.
  
  

  

  
  In high school she was that girl that everyone secretly hates, but all want to be liked by. She always wore the newest, most trendy fashions, she was in both the cheerleading squad and the track team, and she only surrounded herself with people she deemed worthy of her attention. To sum it up; she was a bit of a bitch. Not purposely, but simply because it was what she had been raised to see as normal. Her parents behaved this way and so did her brother, so why shouldn't she?
  
  Eventually, she moved on to study law in the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. While studying she became a much more humble and kind person, realising how vain and superficial she had been in her earlier years. She became more enclosed and private, mainly because her studies took up so much of her time, but also because of her father's rising position in the political scene.
  
  A year ago she finished her degree in law and since then she has been working for a law firm in Washington.
  
  

  

• A Powerful Family

  The social life and position of Diana's parents has always been an immense influence on her life. Her mother was a classic house wife that had a secretary job in a bank before marrying her father to then become a stay-at-home mom, spending most of her time tending to the house and the children or working on social events connected to charities or the city board of culture and activities, which she of course was leader of. Her father worked his way up the political ladder pretty quickly, to the point of being senator of Virginia around the time of her graduation from college. He never stopped pursuing his desire to bring change to their country, always preaching about policies he wanted to install and laws to abolish or change.
  
  Her parents were strict and tough in the way they raised her and her brother, never allowing tardiness or impoliteness. Respect and decency was valued highly, making their home feel like a prison at times. Her parents are kind and compassionate people, always donating to various charities and supporting the local community, but within the walls of their own home they had a tendency to demand perfection that couldn't always be achieved. Whenever Diana got anything less than a B+ in a test, she'd hide or destroy her exam papers. She was only allowed to take a day off from school if she was seriously ill. She couldn't go out with her friends without her parents' permission first. She always had to be home in time for dinner at seven, and in bed by ten at the latest. It would not be uncommon for her or her brother to be punished if they broke any of the house rules, either by being put under house arrest or set to do house work for a certain time. At times, their father would hit them, but open-handedly and never more than once. One time, her mother locked her in the pantry, leaving her in there for at least and hour or two, until her brother got her out.
  
  Other people admired her life and her family, but only because they didn't know how painful it was underneath the surface. Every day felt like a pretentious act, and to this day it still does most of the time. She has grown used to it over time, but only because she knows that she's privileged and that she shouldn't complain. She should feel lucky to live a life as luxurious and easy as hers.
